Cookie & Storage Policy

1. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small text records a website or service can place in a browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature that stays on the device but is not automatically attached to each web request. We use local storage for your consent choice and, only with permission, Google Analytics cookies for site measurement.

2. Essential preference storage

• Name: cookie_consent (browser local storage, not a cookie).
• Purpose: records the policy version, whether analytics was allowed, the saved time and expiry date.
• Duration: up to 365 days unless you clear browser data or save a new choice.
• Legal/operational reason: to respect and remember your privacy choice. The website remains usable if this record cannot be saved, but the banner may appear again.

3. Optional Google Analytics 4

• Status: blocked by default and loaded only after you select Accept optional cookies or enable Site measurement in Customize.
• Typical first-party cookies: _ga and _ga_<measurement-id>. Google documents a default expiry of up to two years, which may be refreshed by activity or shortened by browser settings.
• Purpose: aggregate page views, sessions, referral source, device/browser type, approximate region and call/directions/external-link actions so we can improve useful pages and navigation.
• Configuration: advertising storage remains denied; Google Signals and ad-personalization signals are disabled in this site’s code.
• Provider: Google LLC. Google may process data outside Canada under its own terms and privacy documentation.

4. Advertising, embeds and external links

This site does not currently load Google AdSense, Microsoft Clarity or a behavioural advertising network. If that changes, this inventory and consent interface must be updated before those technologies are enabled.

A map or third-party resource may be embedded or linked on some pages. Opening an external site—including a map, social network or affiliate retailer—allows that third party to apply its own storage and privacy rules. A commercial or affiliate relationship is labelled on the relevant page.

5. Change or withdraw your choice

Select Cookie preferences in the footer at any time. Rejecting optional storage updates Google consent to denied and attempts to remove the site’s _ga cookies. It stops future analytics collection in this browser; data already processed may remain subject to Google’s and our retention controls.

You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser. Blocking all storage may cause the preference banner to return. Browser “Do Not Track” signals do not have one universally accepted standard, so the site relies on the explicit preference control described above.
