1. Scope and accountability
Cheney Mini Mart operates this website for store information and an editorial directory of nearby services. Cheney Mini Mart is responsible for the personal information under its control. Cooblink Inc. provides website development and technical maintenance as a service provider.
This policy applies to the website. A third-party website, map, social network or retailer reached through a link has its own privacy practices.
2. Information handled by the site
- Essential preference storage: the site saves your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage. This record contains the consent version, analytics choice and an expiry date; it is not sent to us as an account profile.
- Technical delivery and security data: our hosting and network providers may process IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information and security signals to deliver and protect the site.
- Optional site measurement: after you accept optional cookies, Google Analytics 4 may process page views, referral source, device/browser details, session identifiers, approximate region and aggregate actions such as call, directions or external-business clicks. The event code does not send phone numbers, link text or search terms. Google may briefly use an IP address to derive location data.
- Information you send: if you call, email, request a listing or correction, we receive the contact details and message you choose to provide. Clicking an email link opens your own email application; this static website does not operate an online contact-form database.
3. Why we use information
Optional site measurement is based on your express choice. You may refuse it without losing access to the site. Necessary technical processing supports delivery and security of the service.
- To deliver the site, maintain security and diagnose technical problems.
- With your consent, to understand which pages and local resources are useful and improve the site.
- To answer inquiries, verify local-business information and process correction or listing requests.
- To meet legal obligations and establish, exercise or defend legal claims when necessary.
4. Service providers and processing outside Canada
We use Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery and security, Google Analytics for consented site measurement, and Cooblink Inc. for technical maintenance. These providers process information only for their service roles and under their own contractual and legal obligations.
Some service providers may process or store information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information handled in another country may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement or national-security authorities under that country’s laws.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect the site and its users, or as part of a lawful business transfer with appropriate safeguards.
5. Retention and safeguards
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS delivery and restricted administrative access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
- The browser consent record expires after 365 days, unless you clear it sooner.
- Google Analytics event retention is controlled in the site’s GA4 account and may be subject to Google’s separate retention and deletion processes.
- Messages and business-listing correspondence are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain an accurate listing, resolve a dispute or meet legal requirements.
- Technical logs are retained by hosting and security providers according to operational and security needs.
6. Your choices and privacy rights
We may need to verify your identity before responding. If a concern is not resolved, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or another privacy regulator with jurisdiction.
- Refuse, accept or later withdraw optional site measurement through Cookie preferences in the footer.
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access or correction, subject to lawful exceptions.
- Ask questions or challenge our compliance with applicable Canadian privacy law.
- Request deletion of information you submitted where we no longer need or are not legally required to retain it.
7. Children, changes and contact
The site is a general-audience local resource and is not designed to collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly create profiles of children.
We may update this policy as the website or its service providers change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes to optional purposes or vendors will require a new consent choice where appropriate.
